UK WEN International Women’s Day Event hosted by Santander – 19 March 2026

#GiveToGain: fostering generosity and collaboration

UK Women in Economics Network (UK WEN) is pleased to host its International Women’s Day 2026 event on Thursday 19 March 2026, generously hosted by Santander London Branch.

Aligned with the International Women’s Day 2026 theme Give To Gain, the event sits under the banner “Fostering Generosity and Collaboration”, exploring ideas of reciprocity, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the economics profession.

Through conversation, reflection and connection, the event will create space to consider how generosity of time, insight and opportunity can support individual careers while strengthening the profession as a whole.

We are delighted to confirm Anna Valero, Professor in Practice and Growth Programme Director at the Centre for Economic Performance, London School of Economics, as our key speaker, in conversation with Oliver Tucker, Managing Director, European M&A at Santander.

The session will take the form of a fireside-style conversation between Anna Valero and Oliver Tucker, creating space for open discussion and shared perspectives. The conversation will be followed by audience Q&A and informal networking, providing opportunities for shared learning and connection.
