On Wednesday 21 January 2026, the RES Diversity and Inclusion Network and Frontier Economics will host an in-person event exploring how we can truly embed inclusivity in the workplace. The programme combines a keynote conversation, facilitated breakout sessions and a panel discussion. More information can be found here.

Diversity and Inclusion Network Event: 27 October 2025

Diversity and Inclusion Network Meeting: 5 Dec 2024 (online)
The last meeting of the Diversity and Inclusion Network was held on 5 December 2024 15:00-17:00 (online).
We were joined by Deepa Datta of the Federal Reserve Board sharing her research on “Measuring Inclusion and Gender Gaps in the Federal Reserve System”; and Prof. Francesco Caselli, from LSE who presented on “A research study at LSE on faculty recruitment and recommendations on how to increase diversity”.

Diversity and Inclusion Network Meeting: 10 Sept 2024 (online)
The Diversity and Inclusion Network met on 10 Sept 14:00 – 16:00 (online via Zoom).
This event included presentations from Professor Dr Nick Drydakis (Anglia Ruskin University) on discrimination in the labour market based on sexual orientation and gender identity; and from Professor Vicki Bogan (Duke Sanford School of Public Policy) on the work of the AEA’s Committee on the Status of Minority Groups in the Economics Profession” (CSMGEP).

The previous meeting of the Diversity and Inclusion Network was on 24 April, 12:00 – 17:00 at the University of Westminster.

Diversity and Inclusion Network Meeting: 22 Nov
The third meeting of the Diversity and Inclusion Network was held virtually on 22 November, 10:00 – 12:00.
The event focused on ‘Inclusive Recruitment Practices for Economists’ and included a panel discussion followed by two focus sessions. The full programme can be found here along with recordings and a written summary from the event.

Diversity and Inclusion Network Meeting: 9 June
The latest meeting of the Diversity & Inclusion Network, co-hosted by the Government Economic Service (GES) was held on 9 June, 12:00-16:00 at HM Treasury, London.
The event began with a panel discussion on ‘Why diversity matters in economics’, chaired by Stefania Paredes Fuentes (RES Diversity Champion). This was followed by breakout sessions exploring topics such as how to create inclusive learning environments, diversity and the triple bottom line, creating inclusive environments for LGTBQA+ groups, and socio-economic diversity in economics. Discrimination and Diversity Workshop: School of Economics at the University of East Anglia
The School of Economics and the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science at the University of East Anglia organised the 3rd Discrimination and Diversity Workshop on 21 and 22 June 2023, held virtually to allow for greater inclusivity. Diversity and Inclusion Network: Launch event 26 January 2023
The RES launched the Diversity and Inclusion Network at a virtual launch event on 26 January 2023. The network aims to support and connect those individuals and groups working on increasing diversity in Economics and contribute to increasing participation from under-represented groups.
