Diversity, Inclusion and Professional Conduct

The Royal Economic Society’s strategy for 2024 – 2028 identifies “Improving diversity, inclusion and integrity in the profession’ as a strategic priority. Economics has the best chance of improving society and the world around us if those who conduct and apply economic research are drawn from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The Society has a responsibility to promote and facilitate the creation of a more inclusive culture in the discipline that can increase participation from under-represented groups.

Through its activities, the Society can reach a large number of economists and influence the views and actions of academic and professional economists, to enact the changes needed. The Royal Economic Society’s Diversity Hub brings together this work, and the work supported by the Society, to achieve this goal.

If you would like to get involved with our diversity work, you can contact our Diversity Champion Stefania Paredes Fuentes (s.paredes-fuentes@soton.ac.uk). To join the RES and support our work, follow this link.
