The Annual RES Conference is our flagship event to which we welcome over 750 participants. In 2025, this not-to-be-missed event was kindly hosted by the Economics Department at the University of Birmingham, the RES Conference’s first visit to this vibrant city.
The conference offered opportunities to present research and develop networks with fellow economists across academic, government, private and third sector organisations. We had a great programme of traditional keynote lectures, special sessions and general sessions alongside fringe events such as masterclasses, professional development and social events.

September 2025: Call for papers & posters launches. Special Session applications are made available
Deadline – mid January 2026: Applications for papers and posters as well as special sessions closes
February: Papers and posters are reviewed by the Conference Review Committee
March 2026: Outcome emails for papers and posters and conference bookings open.
