European Job Market for Economists

The European Job Market for Economists (EJME) provides a forum for postgraduates to be interviewed by recruiting institutions from across Europe. The EJME is co-sponsored by the RES, the European Economic Association (EEA) and the Spanish Economic Society (AEE).

The RES provide the below “How to Prepare” webinar, but there are other suitable webinars available, you can read more here.

How to Prepare for the EJME

To help you prepare for the December virtual job market, the RES hosted a 1 hour webinar where you heard from hiring academics as well as new recruits.

The event was online with one recruiter and one recent recruit who covered:

  • What hiring institutions are looking for
  • What to expect from a virtual jobs market, an insight from a new recruit
  • How to prepare for a 1st interview
  • What to expect from an academic visit
  • Choosing between your offers.

Please read an important update from the EMJE committee here
